What the Parable of the Mustard Seed Has to Teach Us About Neighboring

Jesus often used agricultural metaphors when talking about matters of the heart and spiritual realities. He often spoke in terms of weeds, good soil, bad soil, and scattered seeds. Some took root and others did not. For Jesus’ original audience these agriculturally focused parables would have more easily understood because of their agrarian economy, but for those of us who don’t have much experience with farming or gardening, it's easy to miss what Jesus is saying...

Today, we discuss what the parable of the mustard seed has to teach us about neighboring. Specifically, we discuss the importance of small steps, time and imagination.
