Crossing Men strives to help more and more men see that Jesus is more. We believe this happens in the context of authentic relationships with other men, so we offer men’s studies, classes, and events to help facilitate these relationships.
Is masculinity really toxic? You've probably seen books with titles like I Hate Men and Are Men Necessary? In her bestselling book, The Toxic War on Masculinity, Nancy Pearcey offers a way forward. She reveals how masculinity got to where it is today and how Christianity offers a better narrative for men. Surprisingly, research shows that the "best men" are those who follow Jesus.
We hope you join us for this life changing 3-week lunch study to discuss Pearcey’s book and learn what it means to become the kind of men Jesus calls us to be instead of taking our cues from our culture.
The cost is $25 (includes book)* or $15 (purchase your own book) to be paid online or at the first meeting. Lunch will be provided. If you sign up with a friend, please make a note to help with table assignments.
*Pick up your copy of the book in the office during office hours.
All men are invited to join us for basketball or pickleball most Thursday nights. Check the dropdown dates to be sure it's on!
Come check out some great cars (classic, exotic, and contemporary), have a cup of coffee, and get to know other men in the Columbia area who share your automotive enthusiasm. You don’t have to have a supercar to display your car. Feel free to show your car and invite a friend. We'll gather at the main Crossing parking lot on the second Saturday of each month.
Marriage is really hard. A vibrant marriage needs to be grounded in something sturdier than romance; it needs the life-changing power of the gospel. In the book Marriage, popular author and pastor Paul David Tripp encourages husbands to make biblical commitments to the Lord and their wives. These commitments will equip husbands to cultivate thriving, joy-filled marriages built on Christ.
$30 includes the hardcover book and three lunches (or buy your own book and pay $15 for lunch). If you are signing up with a friend, make a note so we can seat you at the same table.
Come hang out with Crossing Men for a fun summer night of brews and dudes. Logboat’s outdoor space is a great spot to relax, enjoy conversations, and play some lawn games. All men are welcome - feel free to invite friends. Light snacks will be provided. Drinks on you.
The internal war is real. A part of us believes in God’s promises, wants to live with integrity, and desires to fight sexual temptation. But another part of us could care less about God’s promises, ignoring the damage our actions have on others and wanting to indulge in sexual temptation. Where does this leave us? Burdened and stuck with feelings of guilt, shame, confusion, hiding - and more.
Why do we do this? How can we change? Join us for this 4-week discussion with pastor and counselor Austin Conner. We will be reading and discussing the book Unwanted by Jay Stringer, which explores how we got here, why we stay, and practical steps to freedom and integrity.
Registration fee: $30 covers meals and the book. Pay online or in cash at first class.
Let's play pickleball! We reserved the courts and we'll have pizza. No experience is necessary - if you don't already play, we will have people show you how! If you have a paddle or extras, please bring them. This will be a great night together to get to know other men from The Crossing.
Meet at the Columbia Sports Fieldhouse: 4251 Phillips Rd, Columbia, MO. Pizza and drinks will be provided.
