20 Bible Verses about Trusting God

Posted on March 17, 2020March 8, 2021

Trusting God All the Time

God calls all of us to trust him, but in the trenches of real life doing so can be hard. On tough days, trusting God can feel impossible.

One of the best things we can do to build our trust in God is memorizing and meditating on Bible verses that encourage trust.

Here are 20 of our favorites:

In you, LORD my God, I put my trust. I trust in you; do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me. No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame.
Psalm 25:1-2

But I trust in you, LORD; I say, “You are my God.” My times are in your hands.
Psalm 31:14-15

The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.
Deuteronomy 31:8

Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe.
Proverbs 29:25

It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in humans. It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in princes.
Psalm 118:8-9

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Joshua 1:9

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.
Psalm 46:1-2

Do not let your hearts be troubled. You trust in God; trust also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?
John 14:1-2

Keep my eyes always on the LORD. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
Psalm 16:8

The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me.
Psalm 23:1-3

For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.
2 Chronicles 20:12

But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.”
Isaiah 43:1

Blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods.
Psalm 40:3

In God I trust and am not afraid. What can man do to me?
Psalm 56:11

Surely this is our God; we trusted in him, and he saved us. This is the LORD, we trusted in him; let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation.
Isaiah 25:9

For the king trusts in the LORD; through the unfailing love of the Most High he will not be shaken.
Psalm 21:7

Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
Psalm 37:3

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.
Proverbs 3:5

The LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him.
Nahum 1:7

And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28
