Sundays at The Crossing
Discover ways to get involved in the transformational community of The Crossing by being a part of a Sunday morning class.
Children’s classes for newborns through 5th graders are available during both services. Classrooms are open 10 minutes before each service.
Little Ones (0–2 years)
9:00 a.m. & 10:45 a.m.
A young child’s faith is nurtured through play, songs, prayer, stories and caring for their needs. In our 1-year old and 2-year old classes, children begin to learn simple concepts about God. Each month, we focus on one Bible story.
Preschool (3–5 years)
9:00 a.m. & 10:45 a.m.
This semester preschoolers will take a look at who God is from the Bible in order to understand that God made them, God loves them, and Jesus wants to be their forever friend. Children will learn through large group teaching, worship, small group activities, games, and crafts.
Elementary (K–4th grades)
9:00 a.m. & 10:45 a.m.
Kids learn about a biblical concept for 5 weeks through our workshop model. Each week during the unit they are able to experience the story or concept in a different way. For example, one week they may learn about the Lord’s Prayer through art, the next week through drama or science. This semester we will be focusing on the 12 Disciples, the Lord’s Prayer, the Prodigal Son, and Esther.
Elementary (5th grade)
Fifth grade will be using a curriculum called “Grapple.” Grapple delivers Bible truths the way preteens want to hear it. Attention-grabbing Bible lessons and discussions prompt preteens to dig into the Bible, answer real-life questions and tackle the issues that they care about most.
Multi-age Class
10:45 a.m.
Kids in kindergarten through fourth grade that attend both services will be combined in a separate classroom during the second service for games, crafts, and a short devotion. This upbeat and high energy class gives the kids an opportunity to do something different, rather than participate in the same lesson twice.
In the Student Ministry classes, leaders strive to build a sense of community and an environment that fosters spiritual growth. To accomplish these goals, we combine building relationships and having fun with interactive teaching and small group discussions led by our student ministry team.
Middle School (6th & 7th grades)
9:00 a.m., Room 205
Our current teaching series is "Names of God." Throughout the Bible, God is described in numerous ways. How are we to make sense of who he really is? In this series we will explore many of the different names of God that reveal his character to us. We hope that knowing the different qualities of God will lead to a richer understanding of who he really is.
Junior High (8th & 9th grades)
9:00 a.m., Rooms 202/203
The next few weeks, we will be discussing a series on apologetics. We will look at different topics concerning the Christian faith and discussing how we can know the truth of Christianity. Some of our classes will be presented in debate form: one leader will present a non-Christian view on a topic, while another leader will give points to defend and show the truth of Christianity. We think this series will include many important topics that students are beginning to be exposed to in school and elsewhere. We are encouraging students to continue these Sunday discussions at home with parents.
Senior High (10th & 12th grades)
9:00 a.m., Room 201
Following Christ isn't easy. It's often hard to discern the voice of truth when there are so many other voices calling out to us. In our teaching series, "Voices," we are digging into many of the false gods and promises that the typical teenager faces on a daily basis. Hope you can join us in digging into the truths of the gospel and learning how to strengthen your faith and discernment in such a confusing world.
Our Connections Classes offer an additional opportunity to hear biblically driven teaching that is necessary to develop a God-centered approach to life. The format provides an opportunity for extended teaching and the casual environment encourages questions and interaction.

Counterfeit Gods: The Empty Promises of Money, Sex, and Power
Rm 204
Teachers: Nathan Tiemeyer & Shay Roush
Success, money, true love, etc: we often place our faith in these things, believing they’re the key to happiness. But we’re simply making false gods of these good things—gods that can’t give us what we really need. Join us for a class based on Tim Keller’s Counterfeit Gods, a biblical look at our misplaced trust...and genuinely satisfying our desires in Christ. Books can be purchased in the Bookstore.
10:30 a.m.
Philippians: To Live is Christ and to Die is Gain
Rm 204
Teachers: Shawn Bender, Justin Garrett, & Kermit Summerall
Paul’s letter to the Philippians paints a wonderful picture of what mature Christian faith looks like. By walking us through this New Testament book, this video series will help us better understand how the gospel can take root in and transform our lives.
