Kids Club: Volunteer FAQs
What You Need to Know as a Quest Team Volunteer
What is The Commitment?
In order to help during Kids Club week (and to receive a t-shirt and free childcare) we ask that you:
1) Attend our mandatory Volunteer Training on Sunday, June 7, 12:15–1:15 p.m. (below)
2) Attend the mandatory JV Team Training, if you’re a rising 6th–9th grader, on June 7 at 10:45 a.m.
3) Commit to serving at least three of the first four nights, Monday–Thursday.
4) Arrive by 5:15 p.m. each night (unless told otherwise).
Optional: We’d love for you to come on Friday night if you can.
Where Are Volunteers Needed?
The areas where we need volunteers are listed below. We will close these as the teams become full, so sign up early to receive your top choice!
- Elementary Team Helper—build relationships and travel with the same group of K–5th graders all week. What grade(s) would you prefer to work with?
- Preschool Team Helper—build relationships with and lead the same group of 3–5-year-olds all week. What age would you prefer to work with?
- Little Ones Team Helper—care for infants–2-year-olds. What age would you prefer to work with?
- Banquet Team—serve dinner
- Forgery Team—help kids during crafts
- Medieval Mania Team—help with games
- Servant Quarters Team—help with service projects
- Masonry Team—help set up or tear down at various times before, during and/or after Kids Club
How Do I Sign Up to Help?
Register online or in the foyer on Sundays if you need assistance. Sign ups are May 10–31.
Do I Get Dinner at Kids Club?
Yes! This year we are providing dinner for all kids and volunteers during the traditional snack time. Some nights are pizza and some are chicken fingers (with veggie sticks or fruit). Be sure to eat a healthy snack before arriving, since dinner will be a little later than usual.
What About My Little Ones? Will You Have Childcare?
Yes, Monday through Thursday night (not Friday). If you’re helping during the week of Kids Club, you’re welcome to sign up your infants through 2-year-olds for our FREE childcare. Note, this is only for volunteers’ children. You can register your little one online when you sign up to serve. And, although it’s not free, we also give your preschoolers first priority in getting into our Preschool program, which has limited spots.
Is There Volunteer Training?
Yes, and it’s MANDATORY! All those volunteering each night during Kids Club week must attend our Volunteer Training. This includes the JV Team members. It will take place on Sunday, June 7, 12:15–1:15 p.m. in the auditorium. You’ll receive your t-shirt, meet your team, and receive more information about your role at Kids Club. Childcare and a snack will be provided. Remember, all JV Team Members must also attend the JV Team Training on June 7 at 10:45 a.m. If you can’t make it but want to help, contact
