What You Need to Know as a Kids Club Volunteer
What are Volunteer Requirements?
- Attend our mandatory ALL Volunteer Training.
- Also attend the JV Team Training Meeting if you’re a rising 6th–9th grader who has applied and been accepted into our JV Leaders-in-Training Program. Applications due by Mon., May 24.
- Serve at least three of the first four nights, Monday–Thursday.
- Arrive by 5:15 p.m. each night, unless told otherwise.
- Optional: We’d love for you to come on Friday night if you can.
When & Where are the Training Meetings?
All Volunteer Training
Sunday, June 6, 12:15–1:15 p.m., auditorium
For all those volunteering during Kids Club week, attending this training is mandatory (including JV Team members). During this important meeting, you’ll receive your t-shirt, meet your team, and get more information about your role at Kids Club. Childcare and healthy snacks will be provided. JV Team Training Meeting
Sunday, June 6, 10:30–12 p.m., Rm 201
All JV Team members who have been accepted to our program must also attend this mandatory training time. We’ll discuss ways to help you be an effective leader, answer questions, and eat pizza!
Where Do You Need Help?
The areas where we need volunteers during Kids Club week are listed below. We’ll close these as the teams become full, so sign up early.
- Elementary Team Helper (K-5th)—build relationships and travel with the same group of elementary kids all week.
- Preschool Team Helper (3's-5's)—build relationships with and lead the same group of preschoolers all week.
- Little Ones Team Helper (Infants–2’s)—care for children.
- Camp Grub Team—serve dinner, 4:30–7 p.m.
- Arts & Crafts Tent Team—help kids during crafts.
- X Games Team—help with games.
- Survival Prep Team—help kids create two service projects.
- Set Up Team—help set up or tear down at various times before, during and/or after Kids Club.
How Do I Sign Up to Help?
Register online or in the foyer on Sundays if you need assistance. Sign ups are May 9–30.
Do I Get Dinner at Kids Club?
Yes! This year we are providing a catered, kid-friendly dinner from 5:30–6 p.m. for all kids and volunteers. We will also provide a snack at the end of the night.
Will You Have Childcare?
Yes, if you’re helping during the week of Kids Club, you’re welcome to sign up your infants through 2-year-olds for our free childcare. Note: this is only for volunteers’ children. You can register your little one online when you sign up to serve.
