Biblical Counseling

The Crossing is a church seeking to provide God’s prescription for life’s struggles. At times in everyone’s life, the issues we face can seem overwhelming. It may even be necessary to seek wise, trustworthy counsel. But where to find that kind of help is half the battle.

We believe that real and lasting change occurs when people see their life and understand their problems in the light of a growing belief in the promises of God in Jesus Christ. We believe that the Bible, God’s Word, has all of the information necessary for life and godliness (II Peter 1:3). That’s why the goal of the counseling we offer is to help an individual think biblically about their current struggles in the context of a confidential and caring discussion.

We offer several counseling options that are available to either church members or regular attendees only. We believe that the Sunday messages and the ministries of The Crossing are essential avenues of biblical knowledge that support the counseling process and encourage spiritual growth.

The Crossing has recently hired Lynn Roush to help with the counseling needs of our congregation. Lynn received a Masters Degree in counseling from Trinity Seminary and is well trained to addresss the spiritual, emotional, and relational issues that people face. The church has established a counseling participation fee for meeting with Lynn Roush.

One of our elders, Don Delwood, has been leading a biblical counseling ministry at The Crossing for several years. This consists of a team of dedicated volunteers who donate their time and efforts in the service of this ministry. The counseling uses a team approach (often a husband/wife team) with a lead counselor. The approach is solidly biblical and emphasizes relationships. As a church ministry, we do not charge for these services.

The pastors of The Crossing (Dave Cover, Keith Simon, Shay Roush) are available for counseling. However, due to their ever shifting schedules and other pastoral obligations, they are not able to commit to ongoing or recurrent counseling sessions.
