A Daily Prayer
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he
will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double–minded.
–James 4:7-8 TNIV
Heavenly Father, I bow before you in worship and praise. I now surrender myself completely and
unreservedly in every area of my life to you, Almighty God. Your will for me is always my best.
Lord Jesus, I worship you and cherish you and treasure you above all else. I recognize that you alone are
worthy to receive all glory, honor, and praise. I am thankful that you came as my righteous representative,
and that through your work of atonement on the cross you have completely forgiven me. You have given
me eternal life in your Name. You have given me your perfect righteousness with which I am now
justified. And I will share as a co-heir of your inheritance of glory in your eternal kingdom with a
resurrection like your resurrection.
I do, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, hold fast to my place with Christ in the heavenly realm, with
all powers of darkness and all spirit forces of wickedness under my feet. I am thankful that the blessings
the Lord Jesus Christ won for us on the cross and by His resurrection have been completely given to me,
and that I am seated with the Lord Jesus Christ in the heavenly realm.
I affirm that the Word of God is true, and I choose to live today in the light of God’s Holy Word. I
choose, Heavenly Father, to believe your promises to me in Jesus Christ. I choose to live in obedience to
you and in fellowship with you. By faith and in total dependence upon your Holy Spirit, I put off the old
self and put on all the blessings of Christ’s crucifixion, where the Lord Jesus Christ completely cleansed
me and washed me and sanctified me from all my sin. And I put on the new self and stand in all the
blessings of the resurrection, where the Lord Jesus Christ provided for me complete freedom, power, and
authority over all sin and temptation in my life.
Therefore, today I put off the old self with its pride, self-will, self-centeredness and idolatry, and I put on
the new self with its humility, Christ-centeredness, and surrender to the will of God. I put off the old self
with its selfishness, and I put on the new nature with its love, servanthood, and selflessness in Christ
Jesus. I put off the old self with its fear, insecurity, and unbelief, and I put on the new self with its
courage, boldness, security, and faith in all the promises of God for me in Christ Jesus. I put off the old
self with all its deceitful and destructive lusts and sexual impurity, and I put on the new self with all its
righteousness, holiness, purity, and self-control in Christ Jesus. I put off today the old self in all things,
and put on my new self in the Lord Jesus Christ as my victory, power, and authority to reject and resist all
the sins of the old self, and I choose to reject and resist them now in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
I believe that the promises of God for me in Christ are far more satisfying than the false promises of sin. I
believe that the true satisfaction I long for only comes when I am satisfied with all that God is for me in
Christ Jesus. I recognize that this is your merciful and gracious gift to me, and I therefore reject and resist
all the lies and false promises and fleeting pleasures of Satan and of his forces to rob me of the good,
acceptable, and perfect will of God for my life.
Heavenly Father, I yield my life to you and I place myself completely under your authority in every area
of my life. Shine your light and your truth in my life. Make shine more and more in my heart the light of
the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. Expose, break down, and destroy every idol in my
heart. I submit to your will in my life and I claim the fullness of the will of God today in the name of the
Lord Jesus Christ. I do completely surrender myself to you, Heavenly Father, as a living sacrifice. I
choose to live and exist for your will and for your purpose and for your glory, and I pray that you would
show me your will and enable me, by the grace and power of your Holy Spirit, to walk in all the fullness
of the will of God today.
I am thankful that the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty and powerful through God
for the overthrow and destruction of all fortresses and strongholds of evil—to the destruction of every
proud and lofty argument that sets itself up against the true knowledge of God, and to take every thought
captive into the obedience of the Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, today I reject and resist all the strongholds
of Satan formed against my mind; and I surrender my mind to you. I reject and resist all the purposes and
strongholds of Satan brought against my emotions and against my will today, and I yield my emotions
and my will to you, and choose to make the right decisions of faith and submission to your authority. I
reject and resist all the purposes and strongholds of Satan brought against my body today; and I yield my
body to you, recognizing that I am the temple of your Holy Spirit. I reject and resist all the purposes and
strongholds of Satan brought against any and every area of my life; and I pray, Heavenly Father, that you
would set your holy shield and fortress around me as my protection against all of Satan's evil schemes and
forces. Lead me not into temptation, but deliver me and guard me from the evil one, and from all harm
and from all evil.
[I reject and resist all the purposes and strongholds of Satan brought against my family (names) today; and
I entrust and surrender my family to you, Almighty God, and pray that you would set your holy hedge of
protection around them. Lead them not into temptation, but deliver and guard them from the evil one, and
from all harm and from all evil. I pray that you would send your holy angels guard over me and (names)
today to minister to us, and to guard us from the powers of darkness. Reserve and preserve my family for
your will and for your purpose. I reject and resist all the purposes and strongholds of Satan brought against
my marriage, finances, ministry, etc. .]
I rejoice in your continuous mercy, your unfailing love, your infinite goodness, and your absolute
sovereignty, power, and authority over everything that happens in my life. I choose to focus the eyes of
my heart on you, Lord Jesus, and trust in you to create and develop in me the faith I need to fight this
battle, and to fulfill the course you've marked out for me. Thank you that you are always with me, and
that you will never leave me or forsake me. By your grace, enable me to be the kind of person that desires
you more and more, and that pleases you in all I do today. Enable me to be spiritually awake in my
thoughts and prayers, and to give you your rightful place in my life.
Again, I pray that you, Lord Jesus, would bring all the work of your crucifixion, all the work of your
resurrection, all the work of your glorification, and all the work of your Holy Spirit into my life [and . . .]
today. You have proven your promises by resurrecting Jesus Christ from the dead, and I claim in every
way your blessings, power, and authority over all demonic forces active in my life [and . . .]. I reject their
lies and their schemes, and I command them to flee right now in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and to
go to where the Lord Jesus Christ sends them.
I pray all of these prayers to you, my Heavenly Father, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
